Abercrombie & Kent says it is “quietly optimistic about the future” following a record fortnight of bookings post-COVID from the Australian market.
“In a sure sign that the world is opening up, sales have exceeded those for the corresponding weeks in 2019,” the luxury travel company said today [Wednesday 20 October 2021].
“Our guests are reacting favourably to the welcome news around border openings, achieved vaccination targets and resumption of international flights,” said Graham Wood, A&K Australia Managing Director.

“Our Journey Designers are on hand to provide travellers with all they need to confidently make plans: from up-to-the-minute guidance on new travel protocols; navigating requirements at home and abroad; as well as tailoring the perfect experience in destination with insider tips, unique encounters and activities and special places to stay.
“It all ensures a seamless travel experience from beginning to end,” said Wood, who succeeded A&K’s long-standing Regional Managing Director for Australia/Asia, Sujata Raman, in May.

Abercrombie & Kent said demand remains strong for domestic travel well into 2022, coupled with a “good cross-section of international destinations”, including Egypt, Israel, Oman and Morocco to Italy, Croatia, France and Iceland, Sri Lanka and India. A&K’s epic expeditions to Antarctica and the Northwest Passage are also generating renewed interest.
“Enquiry is also high for Japan, Norway, Turkey and Costa Rica,” the company concluded.
