Fiji Airways returns to Brisbane after 22-month hiatus

Fast-tracked restart to Queensland for FJ as international restrictions come down

Fiji Airways will resume commercial flights from Brisbane to Fiji from Sunday 23 January after Queensland announced this week it would enable quarantine-free international travel starting this Saturday.

The airline will launch up to five flights per week from Brisbane Airport to Nadi, Fiji until March 2022, reverting to daily flights from April onwards.

Fiji Airways last operated to Brisbane in March 2020, before the island nation shut down to international tourism due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Fiji Airways will be the first, and currently only airline, to recommence commercial flights between Brisbane and Fiji in nearly two years,” said Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways. “We are so excited to finally welcome our friends from Queensland back on board our state of the art aircraft and safely transport them to a well-deserved holiday in Fijian paradise.”

Fiji Airways are offering deals of up to 70% off Fiji holiday packages through Five nights per person at the Intercontinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa in February & March start from AU$999 including return flights, five nights’ accommodation, breakfast, transfers and more. Holiday packages at the Shangri-La Fiji Resort start also from AU$999 per person including return flights, four nights’ accommodation, all meals, transfers and more.

Standalone return flights with Fiji Airways are priced from just AU$549 per person Economy class, and $1,555 per person Business class.
