Resort-wide enhancement extends to all guestrooms, restaurants and public areas

“After a 12-month refurbishment, we expect to offer our guests a dynamic and rejuvenating experience that combines the sleek sophistication of the Westin brand with the natural beauty of our surroundings,” said Neeraj Chadha, Multi Property Vice President, Fiji & Samoa, General Manager – Sheraton & Westin Resorts, Fiji.

“The resort, which has been operational throughout the COVID-19 lockdown period, is one of the most sought-after properties from the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of hotels in Fiji,” Chadha said.

The bathroom uses natural wood and stone for a rustic feel, a separate glass walk-in rainfall shower, porcelain bathtub and large 360 degree lit vanity mirror.

Leading the redevelopment is designer studio CHADA who is recognised as one of the world’s leading Interior Design studios specialising in the hotel and leisure industries. Based in Sydney, CHADA was also responsible for the interior design of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

CHADA drew inspiration from biophilic architectural principles to create a connection between Westin’s modern, residential aesthetic and a tropical resort that will immerse guests in a forest of rejuvenating experiences throughout their stay.

The Westin’s interior design is inspired by the beauty found in nature and cultural Fijian traditions. The colour and material palette is inspired from textural interpretations of landscape, imagery of native plantations, ocean treasures and natural fibers.

Each room will be appointed with an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional furniture that speaks to the history of the destination as the Fijian Bure style living with modern finishes. Artwork displayed in guestrooms will be a selection of images from local artists.

Guests can expect to experience the re-imagined Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa by end of March 2023.

While the refurbishment of The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa is underway, Marriott International Fiji sister resorts – the newly refurbished Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort and the adjoining Sheraton Denarau Villas, will reopen from 16 March and the beginning of April 2022 respectively.

For all existing bookings at The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa, Marriott will ensure accommodation of the same room type is automatically held at the sister Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, and will work with all bookers to address any queries.
