EYOS Expeditions, a leader in private superyacht experiences, has revealed details of new departures to Antarctica and the South Pacific on the redesigned superyacht Hanse Explorer in 2022/23.
Freshly outfitted to explore both tropical and polar regions, the 12-guest Hanse Explorer will allow travellers to access remote parts of the world on bespoke itineraries led by EYOS’ decade of experience operating private yacht expeditions.

Following a multimillion-dollar redesign by Partnership Design and AROS Marine, the seven-cabin Hanse Explorer features a rugged, steel-hulled exterior, with the highest commercial ice classification, and a newly refined interior with a distinctly modern style. With an indoor-outdoor design that embraces its oceanic surroundings, traditional dark paneling and leather furnishings have been swapped for light woods and a neutral palette of creams, clean whites, and chromed silvers, complemented with nautical navy blue touches. Expanses of glass sliding doors flood spaces with light to allow for optimal viewing of wildlife during expeditions, and cabana-style Bali beds were added with the opportunity to sleep under the stars.

New amenities also include a saltwater jacuzzi and sauna as well as a cocktail area with Bose sound systems to enjoy after a day of exploring with a meal prepared by the onboard culinary team.
Once strictly a polar yacht, Hanse Explorer is now equally equipped to explore both the tropics and polar regions. A pair of zero-speed stabilisers were installed, allowing the yacht to cross the Pacific with minimal motion. Passengers also have access to kayaks, standup paddleboards, diving equipment, and two zodiacs to view these landscapes up close and make remote beach landings. A state-of-the-art dive centre will also be added that caters to both beginners and advanced divers in order to explore remote reefs rarely visited in the Pacific. Expeditions are guided by a team of experts with decades of experience and in-depth knowledge of these regions.

One of a kind journeys in the Antarctic and South Pacific
Hanse Explorer is available for private charters with EYOS in Antarctica until February 2022. The superyacht will then venture to warmer climates to spend April through October exploring the remote island groups of the Tuamotus, the Society Islands, and the Marquesas as well as the Line and Phoenix and Cook Islands. She will return to Antarctica for the 2022/2023 season (December 2022-March 2023).
In Antarctica, EYOS leads journeys to discover the coastline of the wildlife-rich Antarctic Peninsula, witness the vast icebergs, and sail into the volcanic caldera of Deception Island. Excursions include landing at penguin colonies, cruising in tenders among whales, hiking peaks, and kayaking the serene fjords. For adventurous travellers, there is also the option to sail even further south into the ice to the Antarctic Circle, where the sun never sets at the peak of the austral summer.

Journeys in the South Pacific will trace the paths of ancient navigators from the high islands of the Societies and Marquesas, to the vast chains of coralline rings that make up the Tuamotus and the other low-lying atolls.
Rates start at 175,000 EUR per week for the 2022 season and 200,000 EUR per week for the 2022/2023 season in Antarctica. In the future, individual cabin departure dates will also be available this year, allowing travellers to book a single cabin instead of chartering the full yacht.
