Queensland’s Gregor & Lewis Bespoke Travel took advantage of the international border reopening, last week hosting a Luxury Travel & Cruise event in Noosa, supported by the industry’s leading high-end brands.
The Virtuoso and Magellan Travel Group agency arranged for 10 of its preferred luxury partners to present at the show, including Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Seabourn, Oceania Cruises, Azamara, Viking, Silversea, Coral Expeditions, Aurora Expeditions, Abercrombie & Kent and Tauck.

“Our clients loved the event and we have already taken 9 new bookings with these partners since then,” said Melinda Gregor, Managing Director of Gregor & Lewis Bespoke Travel. “We will be following up with all our clients who attended this week and hope to see even more bookings,” she added.
Gregor said the general feel from clients is that they are all eager to travel internationally again with some looking at later this year and others eyeing 2023 and beyond.
“Europe, Antarctica, and close-to-home cruises are what we have booked so far.”
Feedback from suppliers indicated the show was a great event and were impressed with the quality of clients who were genuinely interested in their products and making bookings.
Gregor told LATTE that prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 Omicron variant in November, her agency’s bookings for 2022 and 2023 had soared, with locals excited at the prospect of travelling abroad again. After a quieter few months in December and January, that growth trajectory – fuelled by international border reopenings – is providing renewed confidence in the market once again. So much so, Gregor & Lewis is now recruiting again for an experienced full-time travel advisor.
