First look aboard Albatros Expeditions’ Ocean Victory

Albatros Expeditions has released the first gallery of internal images of its newest vessel, Ocean Victory, delivered in November 2021.

Currently sailing in Antarctic waters during its maiden season to the White Continent, Ocean Victory features 93 staterooms – all with ocean views and 90% with a private balcony.

Albatros Expeditions offers nine stateroom and suite categories on the vessel, starting from the 16 square-metre (sqm) French Balcony Suite (9 cabins) and the 18 sqm Porthole Single Stateroom (5 cabins), through to Balcony Staterooms and Suites, Junior Suite (42 sqm) and the top-of-the-line, Premium Suite Two Bedroom 45 sqm. The vessel also offers four Porthole Triple Staterooms that are 22 sqm.

Onboard facilities include two restaurants, a lecture room, library, observation lounge, bar, a boutique, infinity pool, spa, gym, jacuzzis and pool bar.

Guests have access to zodiac excursions and can participate in lectures, workshops and more. There are also a selection of off-ship optional activities they can participate in on select sailings, including a polar plunge, snowshoeing (US$150), kayaking (US$250), and camping (US$350).

Ocean Victory has been chartered to Albatros Expeditions for Antarctica journeys for the Southern Summer season and to American Queen Steamboat Co., through its sister company Victory Cruises, for Alaska cruises in the Northern summer.

Sporting the acclaimed Ulstein X-BOW hull for increased stability and comfort in high seas, the Polar code 6 and Ice Class 1A vessel has been operating voyages to the South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula. This season has one final departures scheduled in Antarctica, departing today [2 March 2022] followed by a 14-day Patagonian Fjords of Chile itinerary, departing on 20 March.

When it returns from the Northern Hemisphere at the start of November 2022, Albatros Expeditions will deploy Ocean Victory on nine expeditions ranging from 10- to 19-days, ex Ushuaia.

A sister-ship, Ocean Albatros, will expand Albatros Expeditions’ fleet when it launches. Ocean Albatros features 95 staterooms and suites, including an additional Junior Suite and more than double the number of Porthole Single Staterooms (12).

Ocean Albatross had been slated to debut on 18 December 2022 but has since been pushed back until March 2023. She will be deployed to Arctic and Antarctic regions. A keel-laying ceremony for Ocean Alabatros took place at the China Merchant Heavy Industries shipyard in Haimen, China in late January.
