Accor’s MGallery luxury boutique brand will debut its first property in Bulgaria this spring when The Emporium Plovdiv – MGallery opens its doors for the first time.
A historic building reborn with artistic design, smart technologies and distinctive stories, the hotel invites guests from all over the world to discover Plovdiv when it launches in mid-May 2022.

Plovdiv is the second-largest city in Bulgaria, standing on the banks of the Maritsa River in the historical region of Thrace. It is also the cultural capital of Bulgaria and was the European Capital of Culture in 2019.
The five-star Emporium Plovdiv – MGallery hotel features 61 rooms including 12 suites. Centrally located, the property is within walking distance from Plovdiv’s main archaeological treasures: The Roman Forum, Roman Stadium and the UNESCO World Heritage sites – Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis and The Old Town, as well as the city’s best shopping and entertainment options are just steps away.
The interior design was commissioned to Sundukovy Sisters S+S, which was tasked to preserve the building of the former department store – Evmolpia, a well-known landmark in Plovdiv city, by reviving the original features of the building and incorporating them into the hotel design, celebrating local heritage.
Further reflecting Bulgarian history, the iconic design of The Emporium Plovdiv – MGallery features shimmering gold panels throughout.
International travellers and local guests are invited to enjoy the only Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar & Cocktail in the country. There will also be a gourmet restaurant, Torro Premio where chefs blend the best local products and craft cooking to deliver modern Bulgarian cuisine, while Torro Grande will be a trendy restaurant and sushi bar.
