Seabourn Pursuit relocates for final outfitting

Seabourn's second purpose built expedition ship moved to T. Mariotti shipyard

Seabourn has celebrated an important milestone in the construction process for Seabourn Pursuit, with the movement of the ship’s hull to the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy, for final outfitting. Seabourn Pursuit is the line’s second ultra-luxury purpose-built expedition ship, a sister-ship to Seabourn Venture which is now earmarked to debut in July 2022. Seabourn Pursuit is scheduled to enter service in 2023.

Interestingly, Seabourn Venture‘s hull was also repositioned to the T Mariotti shipyard just over 12 months ago.

“This is such an exciting milestone as this means we are one step closer to the completion of Seabourn Pursuit,” said Josh Leibowitz, President of Seabourn. “I am grateful for everyone who has been working so hard to get to this point, and I look forward to seeing her come more to life in the months ahead as she enters this next phase of the construction process.”

Scheduled to launch in 2023, Seabourn Pursuit is being designed and built for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards and will include a plethora of modern hardware and technology that will extend the ships global deployment and capabilities. Seabourn Pursuit will provide the same luxury small-ship experience with the addition of world-class equipment that allows the line to offer its widest range of expedition activities led by an expert 26-person team of scientists, scholars, naturalists, and more. The ship will offer complimentary Seabourn Expedition offerings such as Zodiac cruises, hikes, nature walks, scuba diving, and snorkeling, as well as additional curated complimentary excursions.

In addition, the ship will offer optional shore excursions and optional Seabourn Expeditions with kayaking and two custom-built submersibles at select destinations.
