Explora Journeys has marked the keel laying for the second of four ships, EXPLORA II, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy. The occasion was officiated by senior executives from MSC Group and Fincantieri.
Expected to be delivered in the summer of 2024, EXPLORA II is a replica of the primary ship, EXPLORA I, which is being constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. It is earmarked to enter service in May next year.
Michael Ungerer, Chief Executive Officer for Explora Journeys, said, “We’re thrilled to witness this key milestone for Explora Journeys, which alerts our agency dedication to launch a luxurious way of life model that includes efficient sustainability planning and maximises social and financial advantages for the communities that our ships will go to and depart a optimistic legacy for the subsequent era.”
EXPLORA II will be fitted with 461 oceanfront suites, penthouses and residences and features nine restaurants, 10 indoor and outdoor bars and lounges.
All four ships in Explora Journeys’ fleet will be outfitted with the most recent environmental and marine applied sciences.
