Silversea returns to Australia with Kimberley resumption

Australia touted as "key market for growth" for luxury cruise line

Silversea Cruises resumed operation in Australian waters last weekend after a more than two year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic. Silver Explorer broke the silence, setting off on a 10-day exploration of the Kimberley coast from Darwin on Saturday 4 June 2022.

“We are so pleased to welcome the rest of the world back to Australian shores,” said Adam Radwanski, Silversea Managing Director for Asia-Pacific. “The Kimberley region is amongst the most treasured in the world and we are thrilled to offer Silversea’s ultra-luxury expedition experience to our valued guests.”

“Silversea recommenced global operations back in June 2021, and by 9 June 2022, our entire fleet of 10 ships will be operating once more.

“We have successfully welcomed guests around the world and we now look forward to unlocking the breathtaking natural wonders of the Kimberley region, where few people have been,” Radwanski said.

Silversea says it remains committed to meeting the rising consumer demand for small-ship, ultra-luxury travel. The luxury cruise line’s dedication to a healthy return to service in Australian waters reflects its commitment to the region, touted as a key market for growth.

Silver Explorer will operate eight voyages in the Kimberley region for her 2022 season. Comparatively, the 2023 season has 10 sailings, commencing in May 2023.

Voyages on Silver Explorer in the Kimberley region are nearly sold-out for 2022, but there are suites available for 2023.

Fleet-mate, Silver Muse, returns to Australia in early December this year, while Silver Whisper arrives in Auckland in early January 2023. In a Silversea first, Silver Shadow departs Sydney for the 2023 World Cruise in early January.

Silversea Cruises has introduced a comprehensive, multi-layered set of science-backed protocols to ensure the health and safety of guests, crew and the communities they visit. Guests on all voyages in Australia and New Zealand will be required to be fully vaccinated against covid-19, at least two weeks prior to sailing.
