Hilton has introduced the latest addition to its ultra-luxury Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts brand in the United States, in Washington DC.
Previously operating as Trump International Hotel Washington DC, effective this month the property is now known as The Waldorf Astoria Washington DC.

Housed within the historic former headquarters of the US Post Office Department, the hotel is one of Pennsylvania Avenue’s most iconic structures. It is the third tallest building in the US Capital, and features a clocktower and observation deck. The luxury hotel is positioned between The White House and the US Capitol, near National Mall museums, the Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial.
Inside there are 263 rooms and suites, including some of the largest rooms in the city.
According to the hotel’s website, as reported by DC List, the lobby and cocktail lounge of The Waldorf Astoria Washington DC have rebranded to the Waldorf Astoria staple of ‘Peacock Alley’, while the Trump Townhouse is now referred to as the Waldorf Townhouse, and the Ivanka Trump Suite is now the “bi-level loft with library”.

Waldorf Astoria to raise flag in Malaysia
Meanwhile, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts will open its first property in Malaysia, signing a management agreement to operate Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur.

Slated to launch in 2024, Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur will be developed in the Bukit Bintang hub and feature 279 suites, starting from 76 square-metres. The hotel will also feature five distinctive restaurants, including Peacock Alley, the iconic lounge and bar synonymous with the Waldorf Astoria brand, and a state-of-the-art wellness centre.

Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur joins an existing portfolio of 14 Hotels & Resorts currently open or under development in Asia Pacific, which includes projects in Tokyo, Osaka, Jakarta and Sydney.
