The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has promoted Craig Gibbons from Regional Director, Asia Pacific to Managing Director, Asia Pacific.
Gibbons has represented Los Angeles Tourism and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) since 2012 and joined Los Angeles Tourism as a permanent staff member opening their office in Sydney in 2014.
Initially managing the Australia and New Zealand market, his remit has since increased to include the development of the Southeast Asia region in 2019. His responsibilities have included developing effective marketing, public relations, aviation development and travel trade programs that position Los Angeles as the gateway destination to North America for the Asia Pacific region.

He was also formerly a chair of the ASEAN Tourism Chapter and a Visit USA Organization Australia board member.
“I’m thrilled to expand my role with Los Angeles Tourism as we continue to welcome back international travellers to Los Angeles. With a variety of exciting new offerings and additional air routes connecting Asia Pacific regions to the City of Angels, there are many opportunities to share LA as a premier destination in these markets,” Gibbons said.

In his new role as Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Gibbons will oversee marketing and aviation development in the Oceania, Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea markets from the Los Angeles Tourism Asia Pacific office in Sydney, Australia.
