Flight Centre Travel Group executive Danielle Galloway continues her rise through the ranks within the industry magnate, tapped for the newly-created role of Global Managing Director – Independent and Premium Travel Brands at FCTG.
Galloway, until now FCTG’s General Manager of Premium Brands in Australia, has been with the Group for 22 years. Her career has spanned a mix of roles and brands across Finance, Corporate Traveller, FCM, Stage & Screen, Campus Travel and 4th Dimension. Under the Sydney-based executive’s remit has been the Travel Associates (Premium Travel) brand in Australia and the burgeoning ‘FCTG Independent’ stable comprised of Travel Partners, Flight Centre Independent, Travel Associates at Home, and Travel Associates Franchise.

In a memo shared with Flight Centre staff this week, James Kavanagh, Global Managing Director of Leisure for FCTG said: “Dani is passionate about leadership and had developed many successful individuals, award-winning teams, brands and has had consistent performance during her time”.
“She is an entrepreneurial thinker, a problem solver and a strong advocate for great change in our industry and company,” he remarked.
Kavanagh said among Dani’s most recent achievements was the creation of ‘Link Travel Group’ – a new joint venture with fellow founding members Goldman Travel Corporation and Spencer Group of Companies – focussed on premium and business travel.
FCTG has been working on its global structure for some time to ensure the Group is in the best position to move into the future as a truly global business. Galloway’s promotion is part of the new global structure, and paves the way for FCTG’s Premium and Independent brands to expand their global footprint, a spokesperson for FCTG told LATTE.
The first step for Galloway will be to determine where the biggest opportunities exist in other markets for each business outside of Australia and New Zealand. While FCTG has not specifically stated which markets these will be, it is likely to involve high-growth regions such as the United States, United Kingdom and Europe – markets that present the strongest opportunity for expansion in a sustainable way.
Speaking of her elevated position within FCTG exclusively with LATTE, Galloway said “I see this new role as a fantastic opportunity to expand on the initiatives and successes so far achieved for the Travel Associates brand, and in the Independent division in Australia.

“I am looking forward to setting up these businesses in countries where we see the strongest opportunities for growth.
“I am so passionate about steering these two businesses into the future and feel very grateful to be leading these teams,” Galloway added.
Quizzed by LATTE if her new global role could see an expansion of the invitation-only Link Travel Group to international partners, her response was “definitely too early to comment”.
Galloway will remain based in Sydney for the foreseeable future.
