Globus family of brands is evolving its masthead touring arm, launching a new FIT sub-brand for Globus, at the same time confirming the phase-out of the Monograms brand from its stable.
Independence by Globus is a new travel-alone program released by the company which offers the benefits of pre-arranged holidays for guests seeking flexibility to do their own thing. It will be available on select itineraries, ranging from 4- to 18-days duration in Europe, Africa, Central & South America and soon Asia.
Globus will continue to operate as the flagship guided holiday brand in the family.

Chris Fundell, Head of Marketing Australasia for the Globus family of brands commented on the new program, saying “With Independence by Globus, our guests are free to enjoy the many benefits of touring, untethered and unscheduled.”
“Providing hand-picked hotel accommodations, hand-selected optional excursions and the services of local experts to help guests uncover the perfect ways to spend their days on holidays, Independence by Globus invites travellers to simply travel better – with ease – as they explore destinations across the globe.”

Like all Globus journeys, on an Independence by Globus holiday, Globus takes care of the details for guests with included accommodations, daily breakfasts, select guided sightseeing and transportation between cities. Similarly, with all Globus itineraries, the company can also handle flight arrangements and airport transfers.
“Broken out into ‘Independent City Stays’ featuring some of the world’s most spectacular cities across Europe, South America and Asia and ‘Independent Tours’ offering travellers a larger swath of featured destinations and countries around the globe – no other international tour operator has the depth and breadth of travel styles Globus offers guests – including independently minded travellers,” Fundell added.
Guests of Independence by Globus will also be able to benefit from advice and recommendations of Global Local Hosts around the world, and the brand’s GlobusGO app packed with insider tips. Options excursions and activities will also be available for Independence by Globus guests to personalise their trip.
“For travellers who love Globus but want to venture further, enjoying the world their way, without the group, Independence by Globus ensures our guests enjoy “I” time on holiday,” added Fundell.

Currently, there are over 60 Independence by Globus itineraries available for guests to select from, spanning city stays in London, Rome, Paris, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires; country highlights; safaris across Southern Africa; cruises in the Galapagos and more. In Asia, the program will also expand to explorations of Bangkok and Phuket, India’s Golden Triangle and a trip around Japan.
The Independence by Globus product rollout will see the company wind up its nearly 20-year-old standalone independent-traveller-focused brand, Monograms, at the end of 2022. All packages and departures for the second half of this year will continue to operate as planned.
Popular Europes and Exotic itineraries from the Monogram stable will transition under the Independence by Globus travel portfolio. Guests booked on Monogram trips departing in 2023 are being offered the opportunity to move onto the new Independence by Globus as an alternative.
