Azamara has this month confirmed the appointment of Victoria Chigwidden as Director of Sales – Australia and New Zealand.
Chigwidden comes to Azamara with 25 years of experience and leadership in retail, coach, river, and ocean cruise. She most recently served as District Sales Manager for South Australia and the Northern Territory at Royal Caribbean Group. Prior to this, Chigwidden held positions at Flight Centre and the Globus family of brands including Avalon Waterways.
Having spent 13 years working in river and ocean cruising specifically, Chigwidden has a strong connection and passion for the industry. This combined with her impressive years of experience makes Chigwidden an important addition to the team, leading Azamara’s return to Australian waters in December and expanding Azamara’s presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets as the independent company continues to grow.
Azamara appointed a new sales team in March 2020 to provide the company the opportunity to call on travel agents and partners across the countries. The team is now back in the field calling on travel partners and working with the trade to bring more Australia cruisers to Azamara. The team comprises Kristina Sambaher is Business Development Manager – NSW/QLD/WA and ACT, Jessica March as Business Development Manager for VIC/TAS/SA & NZ, Daragh Robbins is Trade Support Manager and Natalie Bax provides sales and marketing support to the sales team.
Chigwidden officially joined the Azamara team on 8 August following the departure of Belle Osmic, who is stepping away from the cruising industry after more than five years with Azamara to join her husband in their private business.
