Underlining its strength in the luxury travel sector, MTA – Mobile Travel Agents had 25 luxury travel advisors attend ILTM Asia Pacific, held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 5-8 Sep. It was the first time the event had been held since 2019.
MTA, with its Virtuoso membership, is the largest luxury mobile travel network in Australia. With over 470 advisors Australia-wide and their number of advisors growing by over 10% during the COVID period – a fact that did not surprise Don Beattie, CEO of MTA.
“We invested heavily in keeping up our unrivalled support offering during COVID, and this was attractive to advisors looking for their new home after many were displaced,” Beattie said.
The ILTM attendees heard, after having travel restricted for over two years, that travellers are prepared to splash out on travel to receive authentic and personalised experiences or to tick items off their bucket lists. Trends show that travellers are staying longer in destinations rather than city-hopping.
Beattie said the participation demonstrated MTA’s commitment to the luxury travel sector and the depth of expertise that its advisors have within the sector.
“Feedback from our advisors has been that they were delighted to attend the event as they were able to develop new partnerships and upskill their knowledge on emerging destinations and new products.”
