La Collection adds two Italian masterpieces

Borgo Santandrea and San Montano Resort now represented down under

Australian-based luxury hotel and resort representation business, La Collection, has welcomed two new additions to its burgeoning portfolio of exceptional properties, this time in Italy – Borgo Santandrea, Amalfi and San Montano Resort, Ischia.

The new partnership marks the first time either property has been represented in Australia and New Zealand, selecting Lea Seguier and Craig Farrell’s ‘La Collection’ as their feet on the ground within the region to boost awareness to the local travel trade.

Borgo Santandrea is located on the fabled Amalfi Coast and San Montano Resort is on the island of Ischia, just off the coast of Naples.

Craig Farrell, Director of La Collection (LC) said he was thrilled the two properties had chosen to partner with the rapidly expanding business.

“It’s a privilege to be able to introduce two true Italian gems to the Australian and New Zealand market. Borgo Santandrea provides a truly unique, luxury experience for guests – there’s no doubt this property will become an icon of the Amalfi coast. And San Montano is the perfect base to explore the stunning and increasingly popular island of Ischia. These two properties are perfect additions to the LC portfolio as they are family
owned, luxurious small hotels, where service and authenticity are paramount,” Farrell said.

Speaking from Italy, General Manager of Borgo Santandrea, Maurizio Orlacchio, said the time was right to appoint representatives dedicated to this region.

“We had a number of Australian guests, including some travel advisors, visit the properties this summer and the feedback has been overwhelming – that many more Australians will love to visit,” Orlacchio said.

“This is a very important market for both Borgo Santandrea and San Montano. Lea and Craig know the market intimately and we and look forward to working with them and the Australian and New Zealand trade.”

Borgo Santandrea

A haven of serenity on the Amalfi Coast

Overlooking the enchanting, centuries-old fishing village of Conca dei Marini, Borgo Santandrea is located a few minutes from Amalfi and nestled 90 metres above sea level. The resort style hotel features 29 full-service rooms and 16 luxurious suites which offer uninterrupted views of one of the world’s most romantic destinations.

Borgo Santandrea is the realisation of a passion project of two Italian families with generations of hospitality between them. They radically transformed an existing 1960’s hotel, in an ambitious yet respectful restoration carried out over almost four years in order to create a unique environment where Mid-Century design meets contemporary Mediterranean luxury.

The owners’ ultimate goal was to create an atmosphere in which guests feel they are not staying in a hotel but rather in an iconic Italian villa by the Mediterranean.

One of the most striking features of Borgo Santandrea is the 90m stunning vertical height which provides exceptional views from every point of the resort. There are eight elevators, expanding from the terrace at the top of the hotel to the private beach at the base of the cliff, ensuring all guests can enjoy every feature of Borgo Santandrea and effortlessly access almost every corner of this vertical haven.

San Montano Resort & Spa

The true essence of Ischia Island

San Montano Resort & Spa Ischia is an exclusive spa resort with spectacular views of the sea. Located in a secluded part of a rugged outcrop overlooking the Neapolitan Coast, this serene hideaway has stunning Ischia and Naples views. The resort has 65 rooms, 2 restaurants and 7 Swimming pools, both Thermal and Sea Water.

Ischia is very close to well-known and glamorous neighbour, Capri. A small mountainous island about an hour off the coast of Naples – well away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby Amalfi Coast. The island offers some of the best beaches in Italy and you don’t have to go far outside San Montano to find one.

The curving sands and crystal sea of Bay of San Montano is a leisurely walk away. When visiting the Bay, venture further into the thermal park of Negombo – a sensational natural spa complex set in the great outdoors. For a more energetic work-out – explore the Insta-worthy coastline and wooded mountains.

La Collection was introduced to the travel trade in May 2022.
