Regent Seven Seas Cruises welcomed 100 VIP travel trade partners from Australia and New Zealand to a celebratory event at Catalina Rose Bay in Sydney last Thursday night. The event was held to recognise the ultra-luxury cruise line’s 30th anniversary, which elapsed in August 2022, and the seventh year of operation of a standalone office in Australia for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and its sister brands under the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings umbrella.
Hosts for the evening of fine dining, entertainment and great company were Steve Odell, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific; Lisa Pile, Vice President and General Manager, Australia/New Zealand, alongside Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ sales team and representatives from the cruise line’s contact centre team. Also attending the event on her final night on her second visit to Australia was Miami-based Andrea DeMarco, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.

Other co-hosts included the heads of NCLH’s sister cruise brands, Oceania Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line – Jason Worth, SVP and Ben Angell, VP and MD, respectively.
Invited guests included trade partners, hotel partners, land partners and media partners, including LATTE.
Odell reminisced on NCLH’s birth as a standalone business in Australia, when it launched in 2015. It was Odell, Worth, Angell and Pile – the original management team – who mapped out the office space and opened the operation in Sydney for the tri-brands.

“I don’t know where the past seven years have gone, but it’s been quite a journey and a hugely enjoyable one,” Odell said.
And while RSSC has only had an office in Australia for the past seven years, the brand was managed in Australia the preceding 23 years by one person – Diane Patrick.
Odell used the event as a platform to pay homage to Patrick, who was also attending the event as a guest of honour.
“Diane ran our business as a general sales agent right from the start. And it was a great pleasure to work with you and have you here tonight and recognise your contribution,” Odell said.

He lauded all those in attendance for their years of support and especially throughout the pandemic.
“We’ve emerged with an incredible business thanks to your support. You’ve been very loyal to us. You stuck with us through the last two years.
“The good thing is we’re all here today and we’ve all survived what happened ..and there’s so much opportunity out there for the business to grow.”
