Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has released two brand-new mystery cruise itineraries in Europe for 2023, but this time has disclosed their start and endpoints. The new mystery sailings coincide with the release of Cruise and Rail journey in India and a family-centric itinerary in Egypt.
“We are excited to expand some of our most popular offerings next year,” said Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld.
“Many of our guests are seeking bucket-list experiences next year, while others want to spend time traveling as a family or multi-generational group, so introducing a truly incredible Cruise and Rail trip through India, more mystery cruises, and an itinerary packed with family fun and the historical wonders of Egypt seemed like a natural step. We constantly strive to anticipate guests’ needs and innovate accordingly, and we know these new itineraries are really going to resonate,” Bettridge said.
The first mystery cruise will begin on 18 June 2023, be 10-days in length and operate roundtrip from Amsterdam along iconic rivers throughout the region.
On 7 July 2023, the second 10-day mystery cruise will start in Nice, France and end in Lyon, France. It will be hosted by Uniworld President and CEO Ellen Bettridge. On-trip excursions, special events, and overall itineraries will remain a complete mystery to cruise passengers.
Prices for the cruises start at A$10,699 per person and A$11,199 respectively. Both prices include onboard and onshore activities, food and beverages, onboard entertainment, and all-ground transportation.
New India cruise and rail trip
Following the success of the inaugural season of its Cruise and Rail itinerary in Europe, Uniworld has buddied up with Maharajas’ Express to offer a new 16-day immersive journey through India. The trip combines seven nights’ sailing aboard the Ganges Voyager II from Kolkata, with a 7-night luxury private train journey through the Golden Triangle and Rajasthan to Mumbai, spending an additional two nights in Oberoi Hotels in New Delhi and Mumbai.
Highlights of the nearly A$30,000 per person itinerary include the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort and Ranthambore National Park – home to one of the world’s largest populations of Bengal Tiger. Guests will also enjoy local encounters, stopping at smaller temples and villages along the way. The itinerary also features four Make Travel Matter® Experiences including learning about the art of making ornamental brass objects at an artisan workshop in Matiari and a visit to local NGO Calcutta Rescue, which serves the area’s underprivileged children.
Departing on 28 October 2023, prices start from A$29,589 per person double occupancy and include onboard and onshore activities, luxury accommodation throughout, most meals, transportation including internal flights, and all gratuities.
Generations Egypt program
Additionally, Uniworld has launched family-focused sailings in Egypt aboard River Tosca, with three departures in December 2023. The dedicated ‘Generations’ voyages combine a seven-night cruise roundtrip from Luxor, with a four-night land stay at The Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cairo. The trip mirrors the popular 12-day Splendors of Egypt and the Nile itinerary, with additional experiences aimed at keeping the whole family entertained. Activities include taking part in a family-friendly football match with local children and some of the ship’s crew, sand dune boarding and a swim in the Nile, exploring the river by bike and traditional felucca, and a behind-the-scenes visit to the Captain’s wheelhouse.
Departures on the Egypt Generations trip are scheduled for 16, 23 and 30 December and start at A$9,299 per person double occupancy (after Early Booking Savings, valid until 31 October 2022) and include onboard and onshore activities, luxury accommodation throughout, most meals, transportation including internal flights and all gratuities.
A further update to Uniworld’s Exotics for 2023 is that the Timeless Wonders of Vietnam & Cambodia itinerary will go from 13 to 15 days, with two added days in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi at the end or beginning of the journey.
