The Ritz-Carlton to shine on Queensland’s Gold Coast

Marriott International signs new luxury resort at Mariner's Cove, opening 2026

Marriott International has secured the management contract to operate a new ultra-luxury hotel on the Gold Coast under the Ritz-Carlton brand. The Ritz-Carlton, Gold Coast is part of the $460 million waterfront development at Mariner’s Cove, located at the northern end of the Gold Coast, on The Spit. The new build will be a few doors down from the Palazzo Versace Gold Coast.

The agreement between Marriott International and Australian property developers Pelligra Group and Giannarelli Group will deliver a 150-room and suite property in the heart of the Mariner’s Cove project, Slated to open by 2026, the property will feature a signature restaurant and Ritz-Carlton Spa, three bars, a destination bar, fitness centre and rooftop pool.

“The Ritz-Carlton, Gold Coast will mark the third Marriott International property on the Gold Coast, joining our existing hotels JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa and Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast,” said Sean Hunt, Area Vice President for Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific, Marriott International.

“It is a momentous signing, not only for our growing Gold Coast portfolio but for the expansion of the Ritz-Carlton brand in Australia, first relaunched with The Ritz-Carlton, Perth in 2019, and with The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne slated to open its doors in early 2023.”

Marriott International is also aligned with The Star Sydney to bring the Ritz-Carlton brand to the Pyrmont casino.
