Swan Hellenic has enlisted Brigita Devries as its first Pacific General Manager as the fledgling ramps up for its maiden Kimberley season in 2023.
Devries arrives at the cultural expedition cruise operator having notched up more than 20 years in cruising. Her career has included senior roles with Dream Cruises (VP Sales & Marketing, Australia/New Zealand); Norwegian Cruise Line and Star Cruises (reaching National Sales Manager for a five-year term), as well as Crystal Cruises.
The cruise industry veteran will report directly to Alfredo Spadon, Swan Hellenic’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. She will be tasked with launching the expedition cruise brand and its growth strategy in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Swan Hellenic operates two polar-class expeditions ships, SH Minerva and SH Vega, while a third vessel will join the fleet in 2023.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have Brigita on board,” said Spadon. “Her track record for combining innovative strategic thinking with a truly caring customer and trade focus make her perfect to advance our market position as a unique brand in Australia and New Zealand.”
Devries said joining Swan Hellenic “is a privilege and pleasure.”
“Everyone in the open and dynamic team is driven by a passionately uncompromising focus on taking this iconic, pioneering brand forward into the next phase of its history. I look forward to bringing some fantastic developments to trade and consumers in the coming months,” she said.
Devries will be based in the Clarence Street offices of Cruise Online in Sydney, which represents Swan Hellenic in Australia.
