Cory Hagopian, Accor’s Vice President of Entertainment and Executive Travel, has been named Senior Vice President, Sales & Partnerships at Virtuoso, with immediate effect.
Hagopian will oversee Virtuoso’s Member Relations and Partner teams, including Cruise, Hotels & Resorts and Destinations & Experiences, as Virtuoso continues to expand globally. He will report to Virtuoso Chief Operating Officer, Brad Bourland.
The role will see Hagopian lead Virtuoso’s preferred partner and member relationships. He will be responsible for setting and driving the strategy to increase the network’s global sales production, optimising Virtuoso products and services while also continuing to build on strong partner and member relationships.
“Cory brings deep industry knowledge and extensive experience in leading and coaching sales teams,” Bourland said of the latest executive recruit.
“His exceptional reputation and experience in the hospitality industry is a great addition to our talented executive team and we are excited to welcome him to Virtuoso,” Bourland added.
Fiona Dalton, General Manager Virtuoso ANZ welcomed Hagopian to the luxury travel consortia.
“All of us here at Virtuoso Australia warmly welcome Corey to his role,” Dalton told LATTE on his appointment.
“His deep experience means he is well placed to provide a global perspective to his partnership vision, and I know his strategic remit will be of great benefit to our members and partners in region. We look forward to welcoming him in region soon,” Dalton said.
Most recently, Hagopian oversaw the Entertainment Division for Accor and previously was responsible for Sales Effectiveness with a focus on sales incentive plans, data analytics and reporting. He held sales and marketing leadership roles in Toronto, Montreal, Boston and New York, before moving into global sales positions at various times in Leisure, Travel Agency, Luxury, and Entertainment segments.
Hagopian’s previous experience includes roles with Westin Hotels & Resorts, Canadian Pacific Hotels and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, prior to Accor’s acquisition of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International. His sales achievements have led to recognitions such as President’s Circle and Master Class by Accor as well as being named HSMAI’s 2021 Sales Leader of the Year.
Dividing time between his home office in Florida and Virtuoso’s New York office, Hagopian will oversee teams based in New York, Seattle and Florida as well as remotely. He will participate in Virtuoso’s Chairman’s Recognition event in Munich this month, where he will join his fellow senior leadership members in celebrating the network’s most engaged and top-producing agencies and advisors.
