Hosted by Mitch Spencer, Global Account Manager for Globus family of brands, the trip saw the group experience first-hand Avalon’s signature Suite Ships and renowned relaxed luxury approach.
Allie Sparr, Global Head of Brand and Marketing at Flight Centre Travel Group Independent said the experience on Avalon Waterways was “exceptional from start to finish.”

“I’ve been to France several times, but on this voyage, we were able to visit remarkable ancient villages that I wouldn’t have otherwise thought to visit.
“What stood out to me the most during my week aboard the Avalon Poetry II was the service. Every single member of the staff was attentive, polite, affable and professional. They didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond to ensure that every guest had the best possible experience,” Sparr said, adding that she would not hesitate to recommend the cruise line to “anyone considering a river cruise”.

Clinton Hearne, Global Head of Marketing, Flight Centre Travel Group commented of the Avalon experience, saying “What I love about river cruising and Avalon Waterways is having options to do it my way, I can relax or be as active as I like.”
“I can discover gems of travel experiences we all yearn to have, in villages and towns I never would think to visit but for Avalon’s amazing introduction by engaging local guides. Then at the end of every day I can return to the most remarkable river boat for sublime evenings of food, music, and friendships,” said Hearne.

With Avalon’s Choice ‘Classic, Active and Discovery’ excursions included, guests can tailor the cruise along the Rhone to their tastes, with itinerary highlights on offer including cycling through Camargue Regional Nature Park to spot flamingos, taking a painting workshop to mimic Van Gough in Arles, and sampling local sips in an underground cave wine tasting in Avignon.
Travel agents can book their clients on 2023 Active & Discovery on the Rhone departures, with a 28% saving of up to $3,500 per couple available until 30 November 2022.
