Borgo Santandrea has been open for less than a year and has already taken out a string of awards during its first season. From National Geographic Traveller, Condé Nast Traveller and Monocle in the UK, to Travel + Leisure and Hospitality Design in the US, this addition to the fabled Amalfi Coast has wowed guests and judges alike in 2022, but already plans are underway to further enhance the guest experience in 2023.
The hotel has fast become a must-visit destination in Italy, and for good reason – Iconic Mediterranean mid-century architecture, the location, and the attention to detail during a four-year project to give an aging building a new life as one of the world’s most talked-about new hotels of the year.
Borgo Santandrea is a celebration of Italy – the region’s history as well as its current-day artisans – gifted craftsmen and artists created 31 types of hand-made and hand-painted tiles used throughout the property, inspired by the ancestral geometry of nearby Pompeii, Herculaneum and Cuma.

There will be four new luxurious suites added before the 2023 season to enrich the current inventory of 29 decadant rooms and 16 suites, all of which offer uninterrupted views of one of the world’s most romantic destinations.
Also new for 2023 will be a series of tailor-made destination experiences guests can enjoy while staying at Borgo Santandrea. These will include private helicopter trips and authentic artisan tours.
One of the highlights of a stay at this extraordinary property is undoubtedly the private beach. Borgo Santandrea is one of the few hotels on the Amalfi Coast with a beach for use exclusively by hotel guests. Guests can reach the beach via a stroll through the bougainvillea-laced gardens and olive groves, or by elevator. This is a wonderful haven to enjoy the crystal clear sea.
Your clients may never wish to leave, as also located at sea level is Borgo Santandrea’s Beach Club restaurant and bar, which offers the finest local ingredients, and an emphasis on fresh seafood, to complement its setting. In 2023 a new all-day dining experience will be introduced at the Beach Club, designed by Executive Chef Crescenzo Scotti.
According to Borgo Santandrea General Manager, Maurizio Orlacchio, it takes more than unique architecture and a world-famous destination to build lasting success.
“After the great success of the Grand opening season of this year, I’m even more convinced than ever that true hospitality consists of giving the best of yourself to your guests. And having the right team is the secret to fulfilling this goal, as people will never forget how you made them feel.
“Delivering excellent service is always the result of an intelligent effort and together with my team, we will keep doing our utmost to welcome guests with the same genuine Borgo’s way family flair which makes the difference.”
Borgo Santandrea overlooks the centuries-old fishing village of Conca dei Marini, located just a few minutes from Amalfi.
