Over 60 members of the US travel industry and media came together on Thursday morning in Sydney to give thanks at Visit USA and Brand USA’s Thanksgiving Breakfast. The venue, Wahlburgers in Opera Quays, was the perfect backdrop for the relaxed ‘American-style’ gathering with cinnamon scrolls, hotcakes and more on offer.
Guests walked the Green Carpet on arrival and were greeted with mimosas and coffee, before enjoying a delicious hot breakfast. Thanksgiving-themed photo props and polaroids were on hand to capture the fun. And of course, it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a slice of Pumpkin Pie to take away!

“Our annual Thanksgiving Breakfast is an opportunity for us to stop and reflect on the year that has been, and, this year more than ever, thank the industry for their support of the Organisation, and for their dedication to rebuilding this industry that we all love,” said Caroline Davidson, President of Visit USA Australia.
“The support, passion and perseverance shown across the travel industry has been incredibly reassuring and encouraging. Visit USA is grateful to be a part of such a resilient and passionate community of people and businesses,” Davidson added.

Clinton White, Director of Brand USA, said: “We were delighted to partner with Visit USA Australia for its annual Thanksgiving breakfast this year. This day is always a very special time as it allows us to have gratitude, thank our valuable partners, and celebrate just like our US friends and family do. Both Visit USA and Brand USA are invaluable in promoting multi-state visitation to the US, so it was a perfect fit to join forces for Thanksgiving.”
Monique Roos, Senior Commercial Service Specialist from the US Commercial Service, also thanked attendees for their continued support in selling the US to Australian travellers.
The event also raised much-needed funds for OzHarvest, a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to ‘Nourish our Country’ by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need.
Next up for Visit USA is the much-anticipated Visit USA Expos which will be held in February 2023. Registration will open in early December for retail travel agents at visitusa.org.au – further details to be announced soon.
Brand USA will once again host an Australia B2B Event in Sydney on Thursday 23 February, and a New Zealand Expo in Auckland on Monday 27 February. To register, click here.
