Virgin Voyages‘ fourth ship, Brilliant Lady, touched water for the first time on Friday at the Sestri Ponente (Genoa) shipyard of Fincantieri.

Brilliant Lady is the sister ship to Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady and the yet-to-launch Resilient Lady. Each of the vessels features over 1,400 cabins and a capacity of 2,770 guests, with a gross tonnage of approximately 110,000 tonnes

The floating-out ceremony is a significant milestone in the construction of the ship as it marks the next phase in the ship build and commencement of the interior fit-out.

As LATTE exclusively revealed in September, Brilliant Lady is earmarked to launch operations from Miami to the Caribbean at the end of 2023, before positioning to San Juan, Puerto Rico for its maiden season.

On 20 April 2024, Brilliant Lady will reposition from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, sailing to Lisbon, arriving on 1 May 2024.

Meanwhile, Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady met at sea for the first time ever last week (see right) on their voyages in the Caribbean. The ships sailed in unison beside one another for a period of time. According to some disgrunteld passengers, the encounter came at the expense of a stop at Virgin Voyages’ Beach Club at Bimini.
