The loyalty program of Scenic Group’s premium touring brand, Evergreen, is set to be morphed into that of sister-brand Emerald Cruises, in the coming days.

Evergreen has been operating land touring and river cruising programs for the past 43 years. Its loyalty scheme is known as Evergreen Explorer.

Twelve months ago, Emerald Cruises officially launched in Australia after several years of operation overseas. The brand’s local debut saw the previously branded Evergreen river cruises rebranded under Emerald Cruises.

In an update to members of Evergreen Explorer this week, Angus Crichton, Director of Sales, Marketing and Product for the brands said the merger will deliver advantages for guests.

“We’ve combined both the Evergreen and Emerald Cruises programs to make it easier for past guests and our travel agent partners,” Crichton told LATTE.

“This will help our agent partners with their clients as there’ll be no confusion around what past guests’ benefits there are whether touring on Evergreen or cruising with Emerald Cruises. It will all be the same,” Crichton said.

Points will be combined and member status benefits will now be redeemable on all land, river and ocean departures.

In his email update to members, Crichton said: “This improvement means you will now be able to earn loyalty points when you travel on either Evergreen Tours or Emerald Cruises and receive better guest benefits as an Explorer member when you travel on either brand.”

The integration will see the points of Evergreen Explorer members transferred to a new Emerald Explorer account or merged into an existing Emerald Explorer file for those guests who already have one. The change will see Evergreen continue to offer worldwide land tours, while Emerald Cruises will be the brand entity for both river and yacht cruises.

“You will continue to earn Explorer points when you travel with Evergreen and Emerald Cruises and they will live in your Emerald Explorer account,” he added.

During the transition, all guests’ personal data will remain secure within our internal environment and they will be notified via email of any changes that may occur in relation to their new Emerald Explorer loyalty account.

Further improvements for the loyalty program have been flagged for the future, with details to follow in the coming months.
