This week, a handful of Australian luxury travel specialists are making their way through Jordan, courtesy of Tauck, exploring the destination with the touring company’s Managing Director for Australia, David Clark.
The four participants are a select few hand-picked from around the globe, meeting in Amman last Friday before taking off to Jerash, Mt Nebo, Madaba, Petra,Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, along with dozens of their counterpart travel advisors from the USA, Canada, and the UK.
Aside from increasing their destination awareness and insight of Jordan, the group will also hone their knowledge of all things Tauck, participating in the Tauck Academy while on the road. Hence the name of the trip, the Tauck Academy Jordan.
So what is the Tauck Academy and how does it work?
“Tauck Academy is our advisor certification program, designed to provide advisors with all the tools that they will need to grow their Tauck business through in-depth classroom training, on-tour immersion, and most importantly, connecting with the Tauck Sales Team,” says Clark.
“Throughout the program, we highlight elements of Tauck’s various tours throughout a destination such as our current academy here in Jordan, interspersed with special experiences hand selected by our partners such as Visit Jordan, to share the splendor of their destinations.”
And what are the advantage for a travel advisor by participating in the Tauck Academy? Why should they get involved?
Clark says the Academy is “an immersive and destination-focused total Tauck training, from the what makes Tauck so special and unique to all of our product and destinations, to selling luxury and experiential travel.
“This academy gives advisors skills to keep developing their amazing businesses and grow Tauck sales.”
Clark told LATTE the travel advisors chosen to take part in the Tauck Academy are those that have shown strong interest in boosting their Tauck business.
“It is an incredible program that we run 3-4 times per year in different destinations around the world so it really is a special opportunity to form a partnership with key advisors and the Tauck team,” he told LATTE from Jordan.
“The in-depth training and open discussions centre around what makes Tauck unique and different, and in all honesty, what makes us so amazing.”
Other destinations visited by the Tauck Academy in 2022 include Canada, Budapest and Beverly Hills, with plans for Australia in 2023 to be able to really increase the participation from Australia and to show off Australia to international advisor partners.
“We have been running Tauck academies for almost 10 years and they are proven to grow an advisor’s Tauck business every single time,” Clark said.
At the end of the Tauck Academy, the travel advisors are provided with Tauck certification which comes with a range of benefits, putting participants in a special group of the top 1% of travel advisors.
“The skills gained to sell Tauck confidently and strategically are clear, but also add to the advisor’s ability to sell and market to the luxury/experiential end of the market proactively.”
