Price rise for Explora Journeys from mid-January

Prospective new clients urged to take advantage of 'value fares'

MSC Group’s ultra-luxury cruise line, Explora Journeys, is notifying potential new guests to book their cruise between now and mid-January 2023 to avoid the next price rise.

In an email this week to prospective future passengers, Explora Journeys said now was the time to take advantage of “value fares”.

“Explora Journeys invites you to be amongst the first to discover a redefinition of luxury ocean travel by making the most of lower prices up until the 16th of January 2023,” the email blast said.

The cruise line opened sales for its second ship, Explora II, just a few weeks ago. The email update this week didn’t disclose how much the increase would be, and it’s unclear if the revised pricing is due to global currency exchange rates, or if it’s a reaction to increased guest demand.

In August, CEO Michael Ungerer told LATTE that Explora Journeys’ pricing structure from day dot was “no discounting”

“We don’t price to fill,” Ungerer said. “That again is the big advantage of having a private family owner.”

Ungerer has previously told LATTE that Explora’s price point is lower than Regent Seven Seas Cruises, which offers more included shore excursions.
