Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has confirmed plans to debut its highly-anticipated new resort in Portugal’s Algarve region later this year.
Viceroy at Ombria Resort Algarve will feature 76 luxe guestrooms and suites, as well as 65 one- and two-bedroom residences and an 18-hole golf course, set in lush green hills and surrounded by citrus groves, fig and carob trees, farms and inland villages.
The project will feature seven restaurants and bistros, heated swimming pools, a conference centre, a regionally-inspired spa, health and fitness centres, along with a kids club.
“Along with its family-friendly escapades and mindful meeting spaces, Viceroy at Ombria Resort Algarve will complement Algarve’s serene landscape with the experiential luxury and design innovation that has defined Viceroy around the globe,” Viceroy notes.
Viceroy at Ombria Resort Algarve had been flagged to welcome guests in 2022, but is now earmarked to open its doors for the first time in the spring of 2023.
Viceroy operates most of its properties in the United States, with the collection including Viceroy Santa Monica, Viceroy Washington DC, Hotel Zena Washington DC, Viceroy Chicago, Viceroy Snowmass and Hotel Emblem San Francisco. Other locations include Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort in St Lucia, Viceroy Los Cabos, Viceroy Riviera Maya, along with Viceroy Kopaonik Serbia.
In December 2022, real estate investment and hospitality management company, Highgate, revealed its intention to acquire Viceroy Hotels & Resorts, with the deal set to close in early 2023.
