La Collection makes a play at the domestic market

The Old Clare Hotel tasks Seguier, Farrell to oversee local sales and trade marketing

The Old Clare Hotel, Chippendale in Sydney has appointed La Collection as its local representative, marking the first move into the Australian domestic scene for Lea Seguier and Craig Farrell’s brand. La Collection will oversee sales and trade marketing for The Old Clare Hotel in Australia and New Zealand, from its Sydney and Melbourne bases.

Craig Farrell, Director, La Collection said the local addition marks an important milestone for the company.

“The Old Clare is the first Australian hotel to join La Collection. There are a lot of luxurious places to stay in Sydney, but few have a story to tell like The Old Clare – and this is what makes it a perfect addition to our growing portfolio of bespoke luxury properties around the world,” Farrell told LATTE.

“I love the fact that you feel more like a local than a tourist when you stay here. The Clare Bar is the place to be for an after-work drink, and the rooftop pool and terrace is a brilliant area to unwind.

“Each of the 69 rooms is unique, with special attention paid to retaining the best heritage features of the former iconic Clare Hotel and Carlton & United Brewery,” he added.

The Old Clare Hotel General Manager Elodie Artozoul is also excited about the partnership with La Collection.

Artozoul said “We are incredibly excited to be partnering with La Collection as an extension of our Sales team and to be working alongside Craig and Lea. This partnership is very close to my heart, not only for the long-lasting friendship I personally have with Lea but for the common values La Collection and The Old Clare both share.”

“La Collection’s reputation, dedication and professionalism will permit The Old Clare to be exposed to a wider audience network and we are very much looking forward to seeing this collaboration blossom in the new year.”

Located in Sydney’s inner-city suburb Chippendale, the land of art galleries, design studios, cafés and restaurants, The Old Clare Hotel is in good company. Right by Central Station, located between the cosmopolitan Surry Hills, buzzy Broadway and eclectic Newtown, Chippendale plays host to a number of visitors who crave authentic urban experiences, hidden bars, undiscovered alleyways and art shows.

The Old Clare Hotel forms the cornerstone of the Kensington Street precinct, a laneway that offers a selection of high-quality eateries, fashion boutiques and bars within revived heritage cottages and modern build additions.

Room rates at The Old Clare Hotel start from $263 per night.
