Senior management from The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts and Explorar Hotels & Resorts visited the Eureka Resorts Development Headquarters in Manila, Philippines in January, to meet the development and architect teams and tour both sites.

One of the highlights of the trip was a construction site tour in El Nido, Palawan, which included The Pavilions El Nido, Explorar Treehouses El Nido and Eco Town, a fully sustainable solar farm that powers both the resorts and the community with solar power using photovoltaic panels, producing 5 MW of energy while offsetting 10,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year.

The Pavilions El Nido will consist of 92 luxury villas, uninterrupted beach access, vast views of the tropical ocean, a dive centre, adventure park, waterfalls, and adventure walks, spa and wellness facilities, and unique dining options.

The construction progress is in full swing with the development team anticipating the opening of The Pavilions El Nido Phase 1 in 2024, on time with the planned construction schedule. Explorar El Nido’s opening is slated for 2025.

Explorar El Nido Treehouses are located on 5 hectares of unspoiled nature, less than 500 meters from the ocean, and features 69 luxury treehouse villas with private plunge pools, surrounded by a 360-degree lush mountain terrain overlooking fascinating sea views, allowing guests to relax and rejuvenate in ‘adults only’ peace and quiet.

‘Exhale,’ a concept where visitors can unwind and refresh, joins Explorar Treehouses El Nido’s breathtaking nature, world-class spa, wellness, and nutrition retreats for the adventurous traveller. Guests may also remain on top of their business remotely while on vacation in comfort with dedicated co-working facilities called ‘The Exchange,’ while simultaneously enjoying a serene break as an Adults Only (16+) resort.

Niels Huby, Co-Founder & CEO of Explorar Hotels & Resorts this week said, “Overall, the visit was a huge success, providing significant insights into the present condition of tourism in the Philippines as well as prospective cooperation prospects. The Pavilions and Explorar Hotels & Resorts teams are eager to continue working toward the successful opening of both El Nido resorts and offering guests with one-of-a-kind and memorable experiences.”

El Nido, on the Philippine island of Palawan, is a tropical paradise famed for its lush, unspoilt environment. It is well-known for its excellent scuba diving and snorkelling. The area is home to several beaches, crystal-clear seas, and a variety of marine life. The region is teeming with marine life, including corals, fish and sharks. El Nido, in addition to its natural splendour, is home to numerous tiny towns where tourists can learn about the local culture. These communities are well-known for their traditional architecture, welcoming residents, and delectable seafood.

The management team was also able to see firsthand the entire recovery of El Nido tourism and enjoy the islands and natural surroundings while island hopping, diving, and snorkelling.

“We can fully understand why El Nido on Palawan Island was named the ‘Best Island In The World’ by Conde Nast Traveller; the stunning beauty combined with raw and untouched nature is truly out of this world and a perfect fit for both brands’ sustainability and environmental ethos,” said Tim Sargeant, Co-Founder & CMO of Explorar Hotels & Resorts.

“We can’t wait to show our guests around this secret treasure,” he added.
