Aurora targets remote northernmost Greenland

Expedition ship Greg Mortimer to go where few have been before

Aurora Expeditions has unveiled plans to explore Greenland’s northernmost tip aboard its purpose-built ship, Greg Mortimer, in mid-2023.

The expedition will operate from Reykjavik, Iceland on Aurora Expeditions’ 14-day East Greenland Explorer to Germania Land and on to Kronprins Christian Land in Northeast Greenland. A location not frequented by expedition cruises.

“Aurora Expeditions continues to focus on increasing awareness of the thought-provoking, and inspiring regions it visits, through immersive and educational experiences and create life-long advocates of our planet,” Peacock added.

The voyage will depend on the weather and ice conditions, but the intention is to head north towards Kronprins Christian Land, the home of the world’s only military dogsled patrol, the Sirius Patrol of Northeast Greenland National Park. The highly skilled Expedition Team will use their expertise to design the day-to-day activities, exploring on land or cruising along spectacular fjords, making the best use of the prevailing conditions and wildlife opportunities.

The East Greenland Explorer expedition, departing on 15 August 2023, is priced from AU$18,715.50 per person for an Aurora Stateroom Twin Share. A saving of AU$2079.50 per person (10%) is available when booked and deposited before 28 February, 2023.
