Seabourn Pursuit’s inaugural Kimberley season on sale

Six 10-night expeditions between Darwin and Broome, from June to August 2024

Seabourn has confirmed it will sail the Kimberley in 2024, utilising its brand new expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, marking the line’s first visit to the region. The new voyages, first flagged by LATTE in May 2021, include six 10-day voyages between Broome and Darwin that will take place between June and August 2024.

A once-in-a-lifetime expedition, the Kimberley is one of the most remote destinations on Earth, renowned for its otherworldly landscapes, abundant wildlife, and culture that dates back some 50,000 years.

Seabourn Pursuit’s expert Expedition Team will guide guests by Zodiac to Horizontal Waterfalls, surreal sandstone escarpments, spectacular gorges and primeval caves richly adorned with rock art. The team of world-renowned scientists, historians, and naturalists will set the stage for an unforgettable, immersive experience as guests discover unique ecosystems, landscapes and wildlife.

Highlights include a variety of birdlife, from osprey, white-tailed sea eagles and brahminy kites, as well as many others on the Lacepede Islands, identified by Birdlife International as an Important Bird Area as they support more than 1% of the world populations of brown boobies and roseate terns.

Guests will also be able to view the ancient and biologically rich Montgomery Reef, recognised today as one of the most significant geological marine environments, and King George Falls, Western Australia’s highest twin waterfalls. On land, they will search for short-eared rock wallabies, crocodiles, tawny nurse sharks, flying foxes and other unique creatures. In addition, guests will have the option to stand next to the striking Gadawon or ‘boab’ tree, whose Latin name comes from the Australian explorer August Gregory. As guests of the Traditional Owners of this land, guests will hear Aboriginal stories and be guided to view the artwork of the Wandjina by the people whose ancestors created it.

Their valuable insights are offered both in formal presentations on a variety of topics and in more casual conversations over meals, on deck during scenic cruising or leisure experiences.
