Heritance Aarah had been open just three months when it won its first culinary award. Fast forward three years and the premium all-inclusive resort in the Raa Atoll in the Northern Maldives, continues to shine with its culinary excellence.

In late 2022 the resort’s culinary team, headed by Executive Chef Amila Silva, returned to the Maldives in glory, having won 13 medals at the Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup. The prestigious international culinary contest took place in conjunction with the gastronomy trade fair EXPOGAST from 26 to 30 November 2022 in Luxembourg-Kirch-berg. The Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup is one of the biggest and best-known culinary contests in the world. The 7-member team won 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze medals scoring the highest number of wins for an individual hotel at the competition.

Just a month earlier, Heritance Aarah’s trademarked contemporary ‘Heritance’ dining experience, Ambula Restaurant, took home an award for Indigenous/Heritage Cuisine at the 2022 World Luxury Restaurant Awards. Ambula presents an exceptional dining experience that showcases the best of Maldivian and Sri Lankan cuisine. An explosion of Sri Lankan spices and Maldivian flavours, the restaurant serves contemporary Heritance cuisine, with an inventive, eight-course tasting menu experience which encompasses exotic dishes from both islands.
