With all the advancements in technology and transportation, there are very few places left in the world today that would be considered unreachable. There is, however, a destination that a limited number of travellers have had the privilege to explore, which is about as close to unreachable as one can get these days. A destination considered to be one of the world’s last frontiers. That destination is the North Pole.

A&K are thrilled to be able to share this remote territory with a fortunate few as we announce our inaugural Luxury Expedition Cruise in 2024 — North Pole Expedition Cruise: The Ultimate Frontier. Guests will cruise in luxury from Longyearbyen aboard the innovative new icebreaker, Le Commandant Charcot, as the Captain and A&K Expedition Team chart a course into a seldom-seen realm of virgin sea ice, bound for the geographic North Pole. Onboard, guests can delve into a wealth of enriching onboard programs, scientific workshops and wellness opportunities. Off the ship, there’s the opportunity to explore the marginal ice zone, home to seal, whale, seabird and the elusive polar bear, hike, kayak or, for the brave, take an invigorating polar plunge!

On the topic of 2024, it’s shaping up to be a record-breaking year in travel. There is strong interest in our newly released portfolios for 2024 and beyond, with our Small Group Journeys and Luxury Expedition Cruises proving to be extremely popular. Our 2024 Wings Over the World program has just gone out in the market and we’re already seeing positive momentum in sales. A&K’s Wings Over the World journeys provide a quintessential luxury travel experience — offering small-group travel with the time-saving convenience of privately chartered flights between destinations. Guests will stay in luxurious five-star accommodations and enjoy exclusive inside access opportunities only available to more intimate group sizes.

As we saw in the industry in 2022, one of 2023’s biggest challenges is availability, particularly in hot spots like Japan, the Middle East and anywhere in Europe during their summer season. Africa is enjoying a surge in popularity, as one of this year’s trending destinations, and there is still some availability there on our Tailor-Made Journeys, particularly in Zambia and Zimbabwe.

As always, our experienced team of Travel Specialists are on hand to help you curate a bespoke journey for your clients and offer advice on destinations all over the world. While our local experts in more than 55 offices worldwide can bring to life experiences, you may not even know exist.

Until next time.
