Capella Hotels and Resorts, in collaboration with its lifestyle brand Patina Hotels and Resorts, recently concluded a highly successful two-week Australia Roadshow, showcasing the group’s latest offerings and solidifying its presence in the region. The showcase took place just seven weeks after the grand opening of Capella Sydney on 15 March, marking a significant milestone for the group.
The roadshow, a first of its kind for Capella Hotel Group in this market, featured its largest-ever delegation from around the Asia Pacific region. Led by Liz Rodgers, Regional Director of Sales, the team included representatives from renowned properties such as Capella Hanoi, Capella Bangkok, Capella Ubud, Capella Sydney, Capella Singapore, as well as Patina Maldives, Fari Islands.
Capella Hotel Group used the platform to emphasise the growing importance of the Australia and New Zealand region, both as an inbound market for Capella Sydney and an outbound market for the group’s portfolio. Jade Woon, Corporate Vice President of Sales, expressed her excitement about the launch of Capella Sydney, which serves as an ambassador to the Capella brand within the market.

The roadshow commenced in Melbourne, where the Capella and Patina delegation held productive meetings with key travel industry partners. They also hosted an evening reception for 30 home-based travel advisors and a dinner at the exquisite Salon Privé in Prahan’s Entrecôte.
Capella Sydney played a central role in the showcase, acting as the home and host for three days of events and meetings. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the hotel’s event spaces and three unique dining venues, starting with a delightful dinner at Brasserie 1930. Guests indulged in the best of Australian produce, prepared using traditional techniques such as curing, smoking, fermenting, preserving, and pickling.
The Capella Suite, Capella Sydney’s luxurious premier suite located on the hotel’s ninth floor, provided the perfect setting for a Thursday evening reception, where 30 industry guests enjoyed drinks and canapés. Throughout the roadshow, several intimate breakfast and morning tea meetings were held in Capella Sydney’s bespoke meeting rooms, that seamlessly blend heritage embellishments with contemporary interior design.

Valued partners, including American Express Centurion, MTA Travel, and Savenio, were present during the event further strengthening Capella Hotel Group’s relationships within the industry.
A highlight of the first week was a SmartFlyer Brasserie 1930 lunch, attended by esteemed Directors Brent Wallace and Stuart Reay, as well as Goldman Group’s Joint Managing Director David Goldman and their “Smarties.”
In the second week, a smaller delegation travelled to Adelaide followed by the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The roadshow’s finale was a rooftop sunset drinks reception at Nineteen at the Star, Broadbeach, hosted by Suzie Bellamy, Director of Sales at Capella Sydney, and Afaag Ibrahim, Director of Sales Australia at Patina Maldives.
The Australia Roadshow by Capella Hotel Group and Patina Hotels and Resorts was a resounding success, further establishing the Group’s presence in the region and showcasing their commitment to providing exceptional hospitality experiences.
