Dedicated South Australian luxury touring company of The Tailor, The Tailor Touring Co. is launching an exclusive luxury truffling tour of the Adelaide Hills for small groups with two set departure dates in July 2023.
Delivering a tantalising gastronomic experience, guests have a first-hand look into South Australia’s burgeoning truffle industry. They join the hunt at Quercus Truffle Farm alongside specially trained Adelaide Hills Truffle Dogs and their expert handlers, followed by a truffle-infused lunch at Quercus’ private residence with premium Adelaide Hills wines.

Created and developed by The Tailor Touring Co., the new tour builds off the success of its first 2022 truffling tour in the Fleurieu Peninsula, giving truffle enthusiasts a rare opportunity to hunt for the ‘diamond of the kitchen’ in South Australia.
Andrew Walters, The Tailor Touring Co.’s Lead Guide, said to see the sheer joy and triumph on a guests’ face when they uncover a truffle is simply wonderful.
“This is an experience where you really get to participate, rather than sit back and observe. Follow the dogs as they traverse the farm in search of the elusive fungi, sniff along the soil bed to detect its sweet, earthy scent and then get your hands dirty foraging through the soil for the prized ingredient,” said Walters.
“Guests will also enjoy learning about the whole truffling process – not only how you cultivate and find a truffle, but also how to know when it’s ready for harvest, how to clean it and what foods pair well with truffles. It really is a fun, yet educational experience that any foodie will really enjoy.
