Virgin Limited Edition’s Son Bunyola Hotel now open

26 key property joins trio of standalone villas on the vast estate

Virgin Limited Edition’s Son Bunyola Hotel has opened for guests in the Tramuntana Mountains region of Mallorca.

Welcoming its first guests late last week, the 26-room property complements the long-standing three stand-alone luxury villas on the stunning 1,000-acre Son Bunyola estate.

The development includes the restoration of a historic Finca building dating back to the 1500s. The estate is positioned on a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the new hotel forms an integral part of the spectacular estate, surrounded by almond and olive trees, vines and citrus fruit trees. The 16th century Finca has been meticulously restored during the development, proudly retaining all original features to seamlessly blend new design with historical elements to celebrate and showcase the rich history of the building.

The original towers in the main house have been transformed into two Tower Suites showcasing vineyard views and the mountains beyond, the former olive press has become one of two restaurants and the historic terrace is home to the pool.

Each of the rooms and suites have with their own unique character, charm and soaring views – somes suites boast 360-degree sea and mountain views.

The two restaurants serve authentic Mallorcan dishes. Head Chef Samuel favours a farm-to-fork ethos and much of the produce served in the two restaurants is grown in the estate’s gardens and orchards.

Sa Terrassa, the Hotel’s main restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offers dishes using local and seasonal ingredients. Sa Tafona, housed within the historic olive press, will offer guests a playful take on tapas in the evenings.
