EDITION Rome opens in the Eternal City

Historical building was previously home to a bank, now luxury hotel

EDITION Hotels’ first Italian property has opened in the capital, a few steps from Via Veneto and Bernini’s Tritone Fountain in Piazza Barberini. The Rome EDITION features 91 rooms and suites and offers a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space; a Punch Room Bar with crafted cocktails; and a Rooftop Terrace where guests can have the choice of a seasonal bite, a drink overlooking the city, a private gathering with friends, or all of the above.

The hotel is housed within a historical building designed by Cesare Pascoletti in collaboration with architect Marcello Piacentini. It was formerly occupied by one of the main Italian banks. Now transformed into a luxury hotel, the dramatic 7 metre ceilings of the lobby, and porous travertine floors and walls are a show-stopper.

In a first for the city, The Rome EDITION has an expansive lush garden that will be both piazza and dining space. The Garden provides outdoor seating for Anima one side and a relaxed all-day terrace on the other, offering a menu of light dishes available throughout the day until late evening. Featuring old favourites and new creations the menu is accompanied by a modernist cocktail list inspired by Italian gardens and the Mediterranean.

Located on the seventh floor, The Roof offers unobstructed views across the city skyline and landmarks including the Pantheon, Acqua Paola Fountain, and Basilica of Sant’Andrea della Valle. The secluded spot features a large bar area, a travertine plunge pool haloed by daybeds.

Each guest room has a custom-made chair in beige leather, walnut wood herringbone flooring and comes equipped with a 55″ television. In the bathroom, guests will find a custom Carrara marble basin leaning on walnut wood, brushed brass fixtures, as well as the signature EDITION Le Labo amenities.

The Rome EDITION is just a short walk of all the best that the city has to offer, such as the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Borghese Gardens and Gallery.
