Sail Indonesia’s Coral Triangle on a new charter vessel

Rainforest Cruises launches seven suite boutique vessel

Rainforest Cruises has launched a new charter-only luxury yacht to access Indonesia’s Coral Triangle. Entering service in May, Celestia is a custom-built vessel offering private sailings that explore the lesser-discovered corners of the Indonesian archipelago in Southeast Asia.

Featuring seven luxurious suites, Celestia takes passengers to one of the world’s most biodiverse locations.

Celestia embodies its rich Indonesian heritage, having been built by hand in the traditional Phinisi form—a wooden schooner design native to the region—by the boatbuilders of Bulukumba using UNESCO-recognised age-old methods, and adorned throughout with Balinese pieces from local artisans.

The vessel primarily explores the Indonesian Coral Triangle, which is one of the world’s most biodiverse marine environments where 75% of the planet’s coral species lie. Other famed destinations visited during its 4-7 day sailings include the Komodo National Park and the Spice Islands.

The Raja Ampat islands are another of the archipelago’s most spectacular regions visited during Celestia’s itineraries.

Whilst on board, guests can expect a completely intimate and exclusive experience given the vessel’s 1:1 passenger-to-crew ratio, meaning that their every need is well attended to.

And those who select the upper deck cabins can savour stretching panoramic views of the archipelago in the utmost comfort and privacy, with nothing but the dramatic volcanic landscapes and lush tropical islets visible from the suites’ spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows and secluded private terraces.

Communal areas on board include the spacious outdoor and indoor seating areas on the main and upper decks of the vessel where like-minded adventurers can socialise to their heart’s content. The Bowsprit lounge, on the other hand, offers exceptional views and a daybed for groups, couples, or individuals where they can simply relax and feel the rhythm of the gentle ocean.

Given that Celestia sails through the mega-diverse, crystalline waters of the Coral Triangle, the vessel’s itineraries boast unrivalled opportunities to discover the natural wonders beneath their surface, from whale sharks and turtles to manta rays and hammerheads, especially thanks to the expertise of the onboard dive master.

With dive equipment and other essentials at the ready, those hoping to try their hand at world-class diving, gain further qualifications, or simply indulge in the breathtaking underwater landscapes of the Coral Triangle can do so during their trip with expert guidance.

Other water-based activities available include snorkelling, paddle boarding, water-skiing, kayaking, and wakeboarding, with equipment available on board.

Popular land excursions include nature hikes to hidden enclaves and waterfalls, birdwatching and stargazing, while private beach dinners are also a highlight.

Rainforest Cruises offer charter sailings for parties of up to 14 guests onboard Celestia which cost from US$9,158 (£7215) per day.
