Berlin heads down under for advisor showcase

Destination showcase coming to Sydney and Melbourne

VisitBerlin will hold its first showcase in Australia since the pandemic in late October/early November as the destination’s visitor numbers continue to track north to pre-COVID levels.

Berlin’s tourism bureau along with luxury properties Hotel Aldon Kempinski, The Ritz-Carlton and Regent Hotel, and accompanied by local partners Rail Europe and Qatar Airways, are confirmed participants at events that will be held in Sydney (31 October 2023) and Melbourne (1 November 2023).

In the first half of 2023, 5.7 million guests travelled to Berlin, up more than 30% on the same period in 2022, and overnight spending tallied around 13.8 million, proving Berlin continues to be a top destination for travellers.

“We see a long-term high demand from Australian visitors for Berlin,” a spokesperson for visitBerlin told LATTE. “With its unique magnetism as a leading city destination in Europe with living history (2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall), high-end culture, unique culinary and fashion scene, and more, Berlin is always reinventing itself and giving reason to travel 12 months a year.”

“After the end of the pandemic, it is important for visitBerlin to rebuild global B2B networks. The two events in Sydney and Melbourne are first important steps in that direction,” the spokesperson added.

Over drinks and dinner, travel advisors attending the shows will get up to speed on the latest news during entertaining presentations and a quiz, gaining fresh inspiration for their clients’ travel planning. Plus, several great giveaways and prizes will be up for grabs.
