Hurtigruten Group has partnered with Australia’s first online sustainability-focused shopping event, Green Friday, and a range of Australian brands across a breadth of categories to encourage consumers to shop mindfully this year.
The digital event – launched in 2021 – aims to tackle Australia’s mass-consumption habits through peak shopping periods, where Australians can sometimes make hasty online purchases, many of which end in landfill. Emerging as an eco-friendly alternative, the Green Friday movement encourages people to move away from impulsive and excessive shopping behaviours and embrace a more ethical and mindful approach to ‘Buy Better’.
From today, 27 October, to 3 November, the world’s most sustainable travel company is partnering with Green Friday across its Hurtigruten Expeditions and Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express brands to educate consumers about the importance of mindful, more sustainable travel.

Damian Perry, Hurtigruten’s Managing Director Asia Pacific, said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Green Friday and their objective to raise awareness of the environmental and social impacts of our shopping choices. This ethos of conscious consumerism aligns with our commitment to considered, responsible and sustainable travel experiences.”
