The 17th edition of Los Cabos VIP Summit held recently at Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos Resort, culminated with more than 1,600 business meetings taking place. The three-day show, from 13-16 November saw national and international representatives of airlines, travel agencies, tour operators and hotel companies, come together.
69 tourism business partners who have shown significant growth in the flow of travellers to Los Cabos participated, from the main source markets of the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as seven from emerging markets (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, France, Japan and the United Kingdom).
“Actively venturing into emerging markets is an opportunity to promote specific segments by taking advantage of solid air connectivity and with it, bring the wide tourism and business offer closer to potential travellers and members of the industry, through a strategy that integrates specific actions that encourage its growth,” said Rodrigo Esponda, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
The strategy focused on promoting the development of emerging markets with the aim of diversifying the flow of visitors in the medium term, through the vast tourist offer that Los Cabos offers. This is driven by the 38.9% growth in the Colombian market, 511% in the Japanese market, and 33.8% in the German market, from January to August 2023, where the destination’s presence will continue to be boosted. Figures that have contributed to the arrival of +3.2 million passengers from January to October, 11.5% higher than the same period in 2022.
During the three days of the event, attendees learned first-hand about the wide portfolio of tourism services offered by the destination, such as the offer of five-star accommodation made up of 13 luxury properties with 2,000 rooms available under the Virtuoso distinction, of the more than 18,000 in the destination; robust air connectivity with the main cities of the world with 500 flights a week, and a vast portfolio of wellness, gastronomic and adventure experiences.
By 2024, the promotional efforts will boost Los Cabos’ leadership as a leading destination by expanding its hotel offer with the opening of seven new properties and the increase in the number of airline seats, in an effort to attract a greater number of visitors and provide certainty among the main players in the industry.
Companies participating from Australia included Luxury Escapes, TravelManagers, ID Travel Group and Travel Associates.

“Los Cabos is also home to a vibrant Artisan and Foodie community and a host of unique hidden experiences, with farm-to-table restaurants hidden in the cactus lined mountains, swimming with the elusive whale sharks and galleries dotted throughout the landscape.
