New AmaWaterways investor takes “significant stake”

Investment firm L Catterson has ties with LVMH

Global investment firm, L Catterton, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a significant stake in luxury river cruise company, AmaWaterways, from a consortium of investors led by Certares. The value of the shares, and the percentage, have not been publically disclosed.

L Catterton, which is currently managing approximately US$35 billion of equity capital, joins founders Rudi Schreiner, Kristin Karst, and the Murphy family – all of whom remain committed to supporting the Company’s long-term growth and innovation in the river cruising industry and will continue to have meaningful ownership in the Company.

L Catterton has made over 250 investments in some of the world’s most iconic consumer brands. The firm was formed in 2016 through the partnership of Catterton, LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) and Financière Agache, the family office of Bernard Arnault.
