La Collection showcases Greece to Smartflyer Australia

Athens, Crete, Santorini, Paros, Mykonos... tick, tick, tick, tick, tick

Smartflyer Australia, in conjunction with La Collection, has just concluded a familiarisation trip to Greece to showcase the luxury hotel representative’s partner properties. According to La Collection’s Craig Farrell – host of the itinerary – it was the most in-depth Greece educational the company has undertaken in the past two years.

“Some of the Smarties started their trip in Athens, staying at both The Dolli in the city centre, and Cape Sounio on the Athens Riviera.

“The trip included Crete, Santorini and Paros and finished in Mykonos where we stayed at the recently opened DEOS by Myconian Collection.

“Nothing beats experiencing destinations first-hand, but our trips place a strong emphasis on building relationships with the hoteliers along the way, and getting immersed in the same experiences their clients will,” Farrell said.

One of the participants (and Smarflyer ‘Rising Star’ award winner) Kate Mitrevski shared her thoughts on the famil.

“The trip exceeded all my expectations. Visiting so many fantastic destinations and experiencing properties first-hand was an invaluable experience,” she said.

“Each destination had its own charm and highlights, from cooking classes and archaeological site visits to boat trips and home-cooked dinners under the stars. The insights gained during this trip will undoubtedly enhance my professional expertise, enabling me to provide more informed recommendations to clients and colleagues,” Mitreveski said.

On Crete, the Smartflyers stayed at the newly transformed Blue Palace – now a 47 room boutique hotel at Elounda. And the culinary capital of Greece did not disappoint, with a beachside cooking class and a brand new garden-to-table concept on the final night two stand-out elements.

Newly renovated Mystique was the group’s abode on Santorini, and sister property COSME was the luxe launchpad to explore the island of Paros. The group enjoyed a catamaran cruise around the island, and spent a few hours exploring (shopping) on Antiparos.

Farrell explains that every year or two there is a new “it” island in Greece, but there is and always will be only one Mykonos.

“DEOS has set a new standard of luxe accommodation in Mykonos town. With 40 rooms, each with either a jacuzzi or private pool, the hotel is a short walk into town, and the views are possibly the best on the island,” Farrell concluded.
