Luxury resort operator Soneva has released details of the Soneva Kiri’s Yoga Package, which will be made available in November. The package is specially designed for yoga enthusiasts, anyone who wants to combine a luxury holiday with yoga practice or those looking to earn their yoga teacher qualifications. There are two Hatha yoga package options: a seven-night retreat and a 28-night yoga teacher training course, both held at the Six Senses Spa.
Leading the retreat and the yoga teacher training is Dorelal, a yoga expert who has spent many years studying, practicing and teaching a variety of different forms of yoga and yogic philosophy. He is a Master in Applied Yoga Science from the Bihar School of Yoga, the first yoga university in the world. Dorelal has spent many years working at Ananda in the Himalayas, a luxury ayurvedic retreat in India which integrates traditional Ayurveda, yoga and Vedanta with international wellness. He has also travelled to Russia, Korea and other parts of Asia teaching yoga.
The seven-night retreat includes two hours of yoga and 40 minutes of meditation per day, two hours of spa treatments and pre- and post-wellness screenings.
The 28-night package is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher training which includes practise (asanas, pranayama, meditation and cleanses), 50 hours of theory, 25 hours of assignments and 25 hours of self-directed study. A Yoga Alliance Certification can be earned with an extra charge of US$100. Meditation will include a mix of yoga nidra, trataka and a chakra meditation.
Both the retreat and the yoga teacher training come with shared return flight transfers between Bangkok and Soneva Kiri on a fixed schedule on Soneva’s Cessna. Guests will be sharing accommodation in the resort’s larger villas, with each guest getting a private room with an ensuite bathroom. Daily Half Board (breakfast and dinner), comprised of health-conscious and nutritious cuisine and non-alcoholic beverages at the resort restaurants is also included.
The seven-night retreat is valid from 15-22 November 2018 and is priced at US$5,670 per person for single occupancy and US$8,670 per person for double occupancy. The 28-night yoga teacher training package is valid for stays in November 2018 and is priced at US$15,100 per person for single occupancy and US$21,520 per person for double occupancy.
Guests who book the packages will also have a Mr./Ms. Friday butler to see to their needs during their stay, full access to the resort’s gym and tennis court, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi use.
