Urban Resort Concepts (URC) has flagged a 2022 opening for the first villa-only resort set within the mountains of Moganshan, China.
The 80-key PuYun Hotel and Spa will add to URC’s global portfolio of ultra-luxury hotels and resorts, including The PuLi Hotel and Spa, Shanghai, The PuXuan Hotel and Spa, Beijing and The RuMa Hotel and Residences, Kuala Lumpur, with eight further properties under development in Dubai, Bangkok, Phuket, Kota Kinabalu, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Xi’An and Shanghai.
Located in Mogansha’s mountains, known as the “Hamptons of China”, The PuYun will be 45 kilometres northeast of Hangzhou and 130 kilometres southwest of Shanghai.
Surrounded by dense bamboo forests, tea plantations and serene lakes, the mountain landscape offers a fitting all-year-round escape for those seeking time off-the-radar and the perfect foil for URC’s one-of-a-kind, contextual interpretations of storied destinations in a luxurious resort setting.
The region’s vibrant past and present as well as its artisan traditions will be transported into the context of today, allowing guests of The PuYun unprecedented access to the emotional properties of the environment through all aspects of the hotel, including the food and beverage and wellness offerings as well as the countless activities offered to its guests.
URC’s proprietary UR SPA will provide a wellness journey along with a yoga pavilion, two swimming pools and a fitness centre. Two restaurants and a lobby lounge will showcase local produce.
“The PuYun is poised to be an extraordinary new modern retreat, with a spatial and guest experience unrivalled in the region today,” said Markus Engel, CEO and founding partner of URC.
