Firm bookings for Regent Seven Seas' next ship to launch on 23 September 2021

Excitement is mounting with the countdown to the release of the inaugural season voyages for Seven Seas Grandeur just a few days away – on Thursday 23 September 2021. Regent Seven Seas Cruises‘ sixth ship will disembark on her maiden voyage (from Barcelona to Miami) in late November 2023, a fraction over two years from now.

Seven Seas Grandeur‘s debut program – released so far – comprises 17 destination-intensive itineraries. Many of the cruises are Caribbean voyages from Miami (ranging from 7- to 12- nights duration), return Panama Canal sailings between Miami and Los Angeles (including a ‘Holiday Cruise’ over Christmas), a New York to Barcelona journey, followed by a series of Mediterranean departures from Barcelona, Venice, Athens and Istanbul.

With capacity on Grandeur capped at 750-guests, demand is set to soar for this latest edition to the Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ stable of elite ships.

“I expect that the Med itineraries will be incredibly popular with Australian travellers who haven’t visited this region in almost two years,” says Steve Odell, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“My personal favourite is a beautiful 14-night roundtrip sailing from Barcelona, which visits the jewels of the Mediterranean, including Provence, Saint-Tropez, Rome, Sicily and Valetta (Malta). Barcelona is one of those cities that you can visit time and time again because of its magnificent architecture and rich, cultural diversity,” Odell tells LATTE.

Seven Seas Grandeur is a sister-ship to last year’s new addition, Seven Seas Splendor, and the original vessel in the ultra-lux Explorer class series, Seven Seas Explorer.

The next edition of RSSC’s uber-classy Regent Suite – we’re still waiting to learn how many strand horsetail hairs will be in the palatial throne this time! – will feature a new parlour.

“An evolution of luxury, every element of the Regent Suite has been treated as a piece of art, from the highest quality textiles to hand-selected furnishings. New for the Regent Suite is a skylit, glass-enclosed parlour adorned with two sumptuous chaise lounges allowing for afternoon daydreaming or night time stargazing.”

Seven Seas Grandeur exemplifies the heritage of perfection with unrivalled space, unparalleled service, exceptional cuisine and transformative experiences that will begin the moment you step aboard. The craftsmanship aboard Grandeur is quite breathtaking, with every luxury detail reimagined and an abundance of personal space with all-suite, all-balcony accommodation,” Odell said.

With pent-up demand for ultra-luxury cruising at an all-time high – fuelled by the pandemic – Regent Seven Seas has witnessed a trend in affluent travellers booking longer, more immersive voyages, such as grand voyages and World Cruises. (That also includes more than two-thirds of Regent’s 2022 capacity already being filled).

“After not travelling for such a long time Australians want more time at sea,” Odell explains.

“Bookings are also much further out – through to 2024, with the recently sold out 2024 World Cruise.”

Odell says Regent is seeing interest not just from past guests but a strong increase in first-time Regent travellers.
