Small Luxury Hotels of the World has welcomed its first-ever water-based member to its portfolio. Kontiki Yacht Expeditions offers a new and sustainable “Neo-Luxury” way to explore destinations off the coast of Ecuador.Launching in mid-2021, Kontiki Yacht Expeditions will offer two eight-day itineraries aboard the nine-berth M/Y Kontiki Wayra, offering one-way voyages between Manta and Guayaquil and vice versa. The vessel is manned by a crew of 10 and two expert guides.Two sea expeditions provide an authentic immersion into the local cultures, traditions, and cuisine of each port, while creating a deep connection to the natural surroundings and communities.Sailing through five provinces of Ecuador, The Toquilla Expedition and The Spondylus Expedition will hug the Ecuadorian coastline, revealing “seldom-visited” locations including Bahia de Caraquez, Mompiche, Manta, Isla de la Plata, Salango, Machalilla, Ayangue, Santa Clara and Zaruma.
“Nine exclusive staterooms are designed with a contemporary flair and the finest materials, for maximum comfort, a fitting complement to the beauty of the surroundings and the panoramic views that can be enjoyed from every corner,” the Kontiki Yacht Expeditions’ website says.M/Y Kontiki Wayra’s staterooms are spread over three decks – three on the Main deck, an interior stateroom on the Middle deck and five Veranda deck staterooms. Also onboard is an Organic Bar, the Chill Parlour and a Jacuzzi.Included are all meals and snacks prepared onboard, all land gastronomic experiences, soft drinks, wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, Wi-Fi, all land and sea expeditions and more.Rates listed on Kontiki’s website start at US$8,050 per person twin share of the Interior stateroom, US$8,585 for the Panoramic stateroom and $8,855 for the Veranda stateroom.
